Jews For Sarah

This has got to be totally ironic - in a very good way. Commenter accordingtohoyt who is our very own (Classical Values) Sarah had this to say about the linked article which discusses Obama's betrayal of the Jews:

I’m almost at the point where I can think about this without foaming at the mouth. I can’t even imagine why anyone sane (let alone anyone Jewish) wouldn’t see this as the grossest of betrayals!

It is not all of us Sarah. There is a group called Jews For Sarah. This is their mission statement:

Jewish Americans for Sarah Palin is an independent group of academic, religious and political leaders, dedicated to promoting consideration of Gov. Sarah Palin’s political positions in the wider American Jewish community.

We find Ms. Palin’s policy positions on Israel, Iran, national security, fiscal responsibility, energy, and social policy – as well as her record on these issues as governor of Alaska and candidate for Vice President of the United States – to be serious, substantive and politically mainstream.

Though not at present a candidate for any political office, Gov. Palin’s track record in public office has been exemplary, and has withstood the test of the most demanding scrutiny of investigative news media. Gov. Palin’s ongoing contribution to the public discourse in America is welcome.

Let me add that our Sarah's contribution to the public discourse in America is most welcome too. My thanks to both ladies for their contribution to life in America. It wouldn't be the same without you.

So will Palin be running? Well no one can know for sure. But this is what she said recently: “I Do Have the Fire in My Belly”. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

And who would I like to see as her running mate? Gary Johnson. And Herman Cain wouldn't be bad either.

We have rules. Traditional rules.

Can anyone tell me on what rational basis Traditional Values folk pick and choose among those laws and many others? Let me add that the Jewish Religion has evolved since those days so long ago. There is currently no effective murder penalty in Jewish law except for genocide.

Traditional Values

I have a commenter at Classical Values who keeps pestering me about traditional values. Well I'm totally into American traditional values. Smaller government. Hack away at the barnacles, restrictions, encrustations, negative value activities, and other such flim flammery. And it gets no new powers until the serious hacking is not just underway but entrenched.

There is no Constitutional Amendment supporting national drug prohibition. Let us end it at least Federally. And if women want abortions well what are you going to do? Create another black market? But the government shouldn't be paying for it either. In fact the whole Health Care Law recently passed is a bridge too far. I don't want to see it fixed. I want it repealed. Then we need to look to partially (for now) privatizing social security. For starters.

So I'm all for traditional values. And the quintessential American value? Mind your own business. So you can see that I'm a traditional values American in the truest sense.

Please Allow Me To Introduce Myself

First I'm no man of wealth, but I do have a fair amount of taste. Especially for fine women, fine wine, and fine cigars.

Now that the Devil is out of the way. Merry Christmas to all.

My main interests are politics, American and Middle Eastern, science and engineering especially the energy sector, the drug war and the nature of addiction, plus a smattering of economics. And what ever else crosses my mind. I come at the world from a libertarian perspective, although I was a card carrying Libertarian for a number of years. 9/11 cured me. I now consider myself a member of the libertarian wing of the Republican Party. A way long back I was a Communist (Trot - workers of the world revolt) so I have their line down. A study of economics cured me of that.
